In the thick
of mark: murk
of trace.

On Roche’s
soffit, Hexham’s
facet.

Signal opacity
count readings.

Men stir
terms in
inert ms


III

The Master.
The use of the men.
The intention of a stone to one corner.
Fissure.
The floor below.
Written sight.
The shadowy figure.
The chisel.

The stone
folded together
leads into
the chisel

There is fed by the chisel

           murmuring -- > | \ X

The book of sight

          skill marks bellowing above our ears

The chisel could
read

The master would
know

          the murk
of the men

At least
one fish
stands on
its tail

The Master

the use
of the men
