Submissions are closed for 2010, except for a few we have commissioned that are still to trickle in. We are very happy to announce that after this issue of Jacket the magazine and the entire archive of thousands of web pages will move intact to servers at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where it will be available on the internet to everyone, for free, as always. Starting with the first issue in 2011, Jacket and its continuation, Jacket2, will be hosted by the Kelly Writers House and PennSound at the University of Pennsylvania. The synergy in this three-way relationship has great potential. Al Filreis will become Publisher and Jessica Lowenthal, Director of the Writers House, will be Associate Publisher. The new Editor will be Michael S. Hennessey (currently Managing Editor of PennSound) and the new Managing Editor will be Julia Bloch. John Tranter will be available as Founding Editor, and Pam Brown will continue as Associate Editor.

We are sad to report that after a brief illness Leslie Scalapino died on 28 May 2010. Her most recent books of poetry are: ‘It’s go in horizontal/Selected Poems 1974-2006’, published by UC Press, Berkeley; and ‘Day Ocean State of Stars’ Night’, published by Green Integer in Los Angeles. Her novel, titled ‘Floats Horse-Floats or Horse-Flows’, was published by [»»] Starcherone; and a collaboration of her poetry with Kiki Smith’s drawings, titled ‘The Animal is in the World like Water in Water’, was published by [»»] Granary Books. Her book of two plays, Flow--Winged Crocodile, and A Pair / Actions Are Erased / Appear, is published by [»»] Chax Press.
